The Reliability & Maintainability Engineer is a key role within the engineering team, focused on driving the design to achieve R&M targets to deliver the highest levels of performance to the platform and crew for the Small Multipurpose Mission Equipment Transport (S-MET), Medium Heavy Combat Vehicle (MHCV) and the XM30 Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV) programs.

Position Requirements

Essential Functions:

  1. Support Development of System Reliability Model
  2. Support Development of hardware and software reliability predictions
  3. Support Development of and Provide Reliability Allocations to IPTs
  4. Conduct R&M Evaluations
  5. Generate Reliability Critical Item List for Hardware
  6. Support Development of reliability block diagrams and math models.
  7. Orchestrate the develop the DFMEA with IPT support
  8. Support the effort to execute the activities identified in the R&M program Plan
  9. Support and present at human factor reviews and soldier touch points to elicit soldier feedback
  10. Support Establishment and maintenance of a system for tracking status of test incident reports, to include distribution, failure analyses, corrective action and management reports (IST, FACARs, DARTs)
  11. Support and adhere to all company safety and environmental regulations & policies
  12. Control and deliver a large scale project, including financial expenditures
  13. Ability to travel up to 5% of the time. Occasional travel to Europe may be required
  14. Undertake other duties as determined by the PA&T Manager & Engineering Director or his/her delegate


Minimum Qualifications:

5 years’ experience in the application of reliability and maintainability analytical methods for ground combat vehicles

BSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems)


Education:

  1. BSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems)

Experience:

  1. 5-10 years minimum experience in the application of reliability and maintainability analytical methods for ground combat vehicles
  2. Knowledge in Reliability Engineering and related Standards/Processes
  3. Knowledge in Systems Engineering and related Standards/Processes
  4. Ability to present technical briefings to clients and internal stakeholders
  5. Familiarity with the ground vehicle requirements
  6. Knowledge of the US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development
  7. Practical ‘hands on’ attitude with the ability to operate independently
  8. Detailed knowledge of Military Standards and regulations desired
  9. Applied working knowledge with a proven track record of delivery from concept to series production
  10. Familiarity with the US DoD ground vehicle requirements.
  11. Experience of working in a multi-national, multi-organizational and corporate environment.
  12. Knowledge of the US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development and procurement.
  13. Experience with Weibull++, Crow-AMSAA (Growth Model) software.
  14. Experience with engineering and supply chain management in a highly regulated industry.
  15. Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and be able to assimilate complex instructions easily. Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff to establish productive relationships. Superior consultation, diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills is required. Must possess the ability to explain complex concepts in a way that makes sense to someone less knowledgeable about the topic.
