This exemplary writer and communicator will create internal and external written and multi-media communications.


Essential Functions/Tasks:

  • Serves as the newsletter writer and multi-media producer for Schnitzer Properties (SP) and The Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation (JSFF).
  • Manages, and coordinates regularly with, the Graphic Designer, to write and produce multiple printed and digital newsletters.
  • Conducts interviews and writes feature articles as directed by the Director of Communications.
  • Produces video and photo content for digital newsletters and social media.
  • Produces social media content as assigned.
  • Responsible for meeting newsletter production deadlines.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Communications to determine distribution timing and audiences.
  • Assists with events as needed.
  • Assists with social media posting as needed.
  • Assists with video and photo editing as needed.
  • Fulfills, tracks and ships printed newsletter materials orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Tracks and reports budgetary items related to newsletter production.
  • Coordinates regularly with SP Marketing and Communications and JSFF team members.
  • Additional duties and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, digital marketing, video production or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a communications, staff writing or multi-media production role.
  • Strong interpersonal and interview skills to create written and visual storytelling content.
  • Proven experience with conceptualizing, shooting and editing multi-media communications.
  • Experience in a variety of written forms, including newsletters, interviews and articles.
  • Experience developing and implementing written and visual social media content.
  • Strong computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office, basic HTML, MailChimp or other electronic newsletter delivery software and Adobe Suite.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred.

License or Certification Required:

  • Valid Driver License.

Travel Requirements:

  • Limited travel may be required.
