We are partnering with our client to locate an Environmental Specialist responsible for procuring and maintaining all environmental and regulatory permits, with a strong emphasis on air permitting and environmental reporting. This role involves submitting timely reports and renewal applications to ensure compliance with air, waste, water, and chemical regulations.


The Environmental Specialist will work closely with Operations and Management to advise on regulatory requirements and support environmental compliance.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and technically support air permitting, environmental reporting, and compliance assurance.
  • Collect samples as required and arrange for consultant/contractor support.
  • Support the Wholesale EH&S audit program with environmental systems and compliance assurance auditing.
  • Identify environmental risks, emerging issues, and regulatory changes, and develop/support mitigation measures.
  • Lead and support environmental incident investigations and associated corrective actions.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Professional certification (e.g., PE, RG, CHMM, REM, REP) preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations, including CEPA, CAA, RCRA, CWA, and EPCRA/CERCLA.
  • Experience with incident investigation, environmental management systems, and environmental compliance assurance auditing.
  • Project management skills, including environmental consultant management and regulatory agency interface and negotiation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management, and SAP.
