Job Summary: The Trust Operations Manager will be responsible for the efficient setup and processing of trust and estate accounts, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in trust administration, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to lead a small team. The Trust Operations Manager will oversee three staff members and ensure the accurate and timely handling of all trust operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and process trust and estate accounts in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain contact with heirs and beneficiaries, providing exceptional service and support.
  • Obtain inventory and appraisals for property included in the trust or estate.
  • Coordinate the sale of property as required, ensuring maximum value is achieved.
  • Monitor trust and estate accounts to ensure proper management and compliance with trust documents and applicable laws.
  • Prepare and file tax returns for trusts and estates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets for the trust operations department.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of three staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trust administration or a related area within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of trust and estate laws, tax regulations, and accounting principles.
  • Proven supervisory experience with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a small team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with trust accounting software.
