Harpswood is a UK founded PR agency which works with businesses who make the world cleaner, fairer and better.
We’re after a self-starter who is news obsessed and wants to become a media relations hotshot. They will communicate with clarity, enjoy meeting people, and love the thrill of building strong client relationships and winning new business.
The role will focus on raising the profile of Houston-based Octopus Energy US – the renewable energy provider shaking up the energy market. Octopus Energy US is part of the wider global Octopus Energy Group – a success story from the UK which has changed the face of clean power in the last eight years. It is now worth nearly $8bn, with investment from the likes of Al Gore’s Generation Investment Management, and has operations in 19 countries including Japan, Australia, New Zealand and much of Europe.
You will generate media opportunities for the US CEO, and continue raising the profile of the company as you support a dynamic press office. Greg Jackson, CEO and co-founder of Octopus, spoke at SXSW last year about how technology is unlocking cheaper, greener energy - this is Octopus’s global mission.
Harpswood was founded by James Clench, an ex journalist who believes in the power of clear language. That value guides our work. James invited Abi Smith, a highly successful PR professional, to run the agency with him. Her relentless energy and ‘can-do’ attitude sets the Harpswood ethos. Our team includes experienced media operators: an ex national newspaper features editor, an ex national newspaper head of news and an ex BBC TV producer.
Our other clients include the likes of Sustainable Ventures, the home of Europe’s climate-tech startups, Naked Energy, the UK business transforming solar thermal around the world, Packfleet, the all-electric delivery service… and many, many more.
