Scenic Fruit Company, a family-owned business since 1931, is the oldest berry processor in the Northwest. We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager with proven technical & leadership skills who can enhance our facility's safety, efficiency & productivity . The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe maintenance, troubleshooting, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production efficiencies. The Maintenance Manager will supervise and also independently perform routine general maintenance and repair throughout the facility. Maintenance areas include the entire facility, equipment and its infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will posses the following qualifications-

  • 5-7 years of combined leadership experience and at least 3 years in a management and/or supervisory role.
  • A practical knowledge of the mechanical, technical and quality control aspects of manufacturing processes
  • High level knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills
  • Welding and fabrication skills a plus
  • Attain a Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) a plus
  • Experience in Ammonia Refrigeration a plus


Essential functions of the position-

  • Plans, prioritizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, & participates in the work of associates responsible for facility infrastructure maintenance, including managing & coordinating the use of external contractors, vendors, & other labor as necessary
  • Maintains & updates operating & training manuals for the maintenance department following OSHA standards. Manages department training
  • Maintains accurate preventive maintenance records
  • Participates in the Hazard Communication Program
  • Assist team leaders & machine operators in efficient line start up & equipment adjustments
  • Monitor & review the operation of plant equipment & systems to minimize downtime, anticipate & solve problems in a timely manner, & identify opportunities for improvement
  • Initiates, implements, & manages the plant maintenance based on best practices.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement, supplies, tools, & materials to perform duties efficiently & effectively to include good housekeeping & organization in the shop & warehouse
  • Establishes & maintains a maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, & maintenance history of plant equipment
  • Enforces company policies to include food safety, OSHA safety, rules & regulations within the Maintenance Department & ensures city, county, state, & federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times
  • Prepares reports, analyzes data, & makes recommendations for improving plant operations.
  • Directs, maintains, & enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians
  • Attend & participate in all training for OSHA compliance, Hazmat, SDS requirements & regulations, Ammonia, PPE & Confined Space Training
  • Work with plant management to recommend necessary plant improvements, designs, & development of efficiencies of the mechanical systems
  • Facilitate smooth interdepartmental communication, organization, & coordination
