The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Web Developer to maintain and update the Alicat website and distributor portal. You will produce amazing UX solutions, so users find the content they need fast. You will produce amazing UX solutions, ensuring users find the content they need quickly. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SEO best practices, a strong analytical mindset, and web development experience with WordPress, HTML, and CSS.


In this role you will:

  • Design and develop web pages, select and implement plugins, manage migrations and ensure security measures for secure, fast, and high performing content.
  • Develop and implement SEO best practices to improve organic search performance (e.g., meta tags, loading speed, accessibility).
  • Design and optimize landing pages for marketing campaigns to increase conversion rates and campaign ROI.
  • Advise content creators and other team members on up-to-date SEO best practices to enhance content performance (e.g. blogs, pillar pages, videos, social media, referrals).
  • Manage and solve web requests from internal team members.
  • Set objectives and measure results to attract traffic that converts into sales opportunities.
  • Report on web site traffic and performance to demonstrate improvements and justify desired changes.


Performance in this role will be evaluated based on:

  • Website landing page conversion rates
  • SEO rankings of top keywords
  • Total traffic to website
  • Site health and page performance


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of web development experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP, preferably in a WordPress environment.
  • Strong understanding of data-driven UI and UX, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Semrush.
  • Experience with keyword research and competitive analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS for on-page and off-page SEO optimization and web development best practices.
  • Understanding of technical SEO aspects, including site speed optimization and mobile-first indexing.
  • Experience evaluating, selecting and updating plugins.


Stand-out candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with Shopify or Divi.
  • Experience with international SEO.
  • Experience managing Google Ads to supplement web presence.
  • Experience in an organization working with technical information.


Alicat Scientific manufactures an extensive range of highly technical products. All marketers at Alicat take part in a two-month training course to familiarize themselves with the products and extensive market spaces. This equips the team with knowledge essential to inter-departmental communications and empowers the individual over time to take ownership of their role.
