This role involves managing all phases of the software development lifecycle, including prioritizing project backlogs, refining requirements, overseeing development, and managing testing, deployment, and support for systems that serve both members and visitors. The role also requires acting as the bridge between business and technology, with a focus on innovative problem-solving, strong communication, and a keen attention to detail. Additionally, the position will oversee the administration and configuration of critical systems through point-and-click tools.

The role is primarily based in Owings Mills, with the potential for remote work arrangements as approved by the COO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end management of small to medium-sized projects.
  • Design and automate workflows using Salesforce Flow.
  • Create and manage Salesforce reports and dashboards, providing actionable insights to support organizational needs, and lead training on reporting features.
  • Supervise a Systems Support Specialist responsible for handling internal/external support cases, program and product setup, and user training.
  • Optimize and manage the external-facing Experience Cloud site.
  • Collaborate with third-party systems and managed packages like NPSP, Conga, Mogli, Traction Rec, Upace, and SecuTix.
  • Handle straightforward Salesforce integrations, while more complex tasks are delegated to external developers or consultants.
  • Ensure data accuracy through regular database maintenance and optimization.
  • Act as a champion for Salesforce within the organization, promoting its use to enhance business efficiency.
  • Execute basic administrative functions such as app creation, layout adjustments, field modifications, formulas, and validation rules.
  • Work closely with partners, such as Traction Rec, to manage system updates and resolve support issues.
  • Collect detailed input from team members on system enhancements or changes, implementing modifications as necessary.
  • Prepare documentation and training materials to support internal users and expand the organization's Salesforce expertise.
  • Document customizations and configurations within Salesforce.
  • Plan for system upgrades, seasonal releases, and long-term projects in collaboration with the COO.
  • Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot and resolve technology issues raised by staff and customers.
  • Participate in organizational and community events as required.
  • Stay informed on organizational programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Uphold the organization’s mission while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, information technology, computer science, accounting, or related disciplines.
  • Preferably, three or more years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of the Salesforce platform, with the ability to build custom apps, objects, formula fields, flows, and Lightning pages.
  • Salesforce Admin (ADM201) certification is required; additional certifications, such as Platform App Builder or Nonprofit Cloud Consultant, are a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining Salesforce reports and dashboards. Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work well in team-based environments.
  • Excellent skills in project management, documentation, and communication.
  • A creative thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and synthesize information from multiple sources, resolving any conflicts that arise.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to explain complex processes clearly.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Capable of handling confidential information with care and professionalism.
  • Able to complete large projects with minimal supervision.
