The ideal candidate will excel in identifying and resolving telecom issues, developing service strategies, and collaborating with both internal teams and third-party vendors. This position offers the opportunity to work independently, contribute to process improvements, and support a dynamic, fast-paced organization.


This opportunity is a contract to possible hire opportunity and can be done remotely. This role can include occasional national travel. Overtime would be included.


Requirements

  • Develop and maintain an advanced understanding of customer technology usage and telecom infrastructure.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and support for telecom systems, including VoIP, Analog/POTS, Cellular, Fax, Alarm Systems, and Elevator Telephone lines.
  • Lead and execute the deployment and troubleshooting of telecom infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and operation.
  • Develop, track, and report on metrics that add value and prevent faults. Document root causes and recommend permanent solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT associates and business partners to identify opportunities for improving telecom services and adjust them accordingly.
  • Contribute to the creation of standards and operating procedures for telecom services, ensuring consistency and reliability.
  • Maintain professional communication with end users and IT associates, providing timely status updates and resolution of incidents.
  • Work directly with senior IT and business leaders to develop service strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Assist project teams with planning, deployment, and testing of telecom system installations and integrations.
  • Coordinate with third-party telecom managed service providers to manage issues, support efforts, and address service projects and deficiencies.
  • Utilize technical knowledge and industry trends to drive process improvements and identify business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT service areas, including processes and procedures.
  • Participate in special projects or assignments, executing tasks to enhance systems and operations.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to other analysts and IT associates, contributing to their development and success.
  • Collaborate with vendors to develop quotes, obtain approvals, and facilitate the ordering of necessary equipment, software, and services.
  • Work with colleagues to identify and resolve issues, implementing changes to streamline operations.
  • Oversee system modifications and develop troubleshooting programs as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.


Requirements

  • Certified Telecommunications Analyst, Network+, Certified VoIP Analyst preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in IT, with at least 1 year focused on telecom.
  • Proficiency in Visio, PowerPoint, O365, and Teams, with advanced technical expertise in telecom systems.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and familiarity with VoIP providers like 8x8 is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 10%-20%.
  • Availability for weekend and after-hours work as required by project needs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, and maneuver to access network equipment and wiring.
