Sales Specialist

Duties: Maintain contact with companies and key individuals within ones assigned territory that have the potential for the purchase of equipment related to Dry Solids Handling, Processing and Industrial Packaging, as well as Dust Collection, Air Handling and the Instrumentation related to these areas. Obtain sufficient product knowledge as to explain to customers the unique capabilities of each product. Collect adequate application information to facilitate proposal preparation by one’s self or others, aggressively follow up on any sales leads.
Requirements:
Successful candidate will have a minimum of an associate degree in Engineering or related field, 3-5 years of industrial sales experience, Excellent organizational as well as writing and verbal communication skills, the ability to work well with others, and be a self-starter.
Hours:
Work Hours are 8 am - 12 pm and 1 pm – 5 pm Monday - Friday
There is a 180-day probation period after which there will be an employee evaluation.
Full time employment to include the following benefits:
One week paid vacation after the first year.
Two week paid vacation after the second year.
Three weeks paid vacation after the fifth year.
Sick pay is accumulated on a day worked basis. For every (52) days worked you receive a paid sick day. When taken, this amounts to five sick days per year. If not taken, you will not be paid for the sick days or unused vacation days.
Wages are computed and paid on the first (1st) day of each month.
Vacations will be scheduled one month in advance.
Holidays are paid after the 180-day probation period.
Absenteeism prior to or after a holiday will eliminate the paid holiday, unless previously agreed upon.
A two-week notice must be given when terminating employment.
An employee evaluation will be conducted after 180 days and then again on the anniversary date.
Compensation:
Salary/Draw against commission or buy/resell profits generated in assigned territory.
Starting salary/draw against commissions and resale activity dependent on the territory assigned
Commissions are calculated based on payments received by the company and are accrued to the salespersons account and paid quarterly as follows:
40% of the first $120,000 received by the company in any given year either as commissions or profits from resale activities.
60% of any amount that exceeds $120,000 up to $200,000
70% of all amounts over $200,000
Expenses:
All business-related expenses are reimbursed by Burke Sales and Engineering upon receipt of a properly filled out expense report.
Business related use of personal automobile is reimbursed at .60 cents per mile.
Ordinarily overnight travel expenses (Motel and meals) should not exceed $250.00 per overnight stay.
Termination:
Upon Termination salesperson will receive commission credit for all orders received from his or her territory from 90 days from effective date of the termination, providing the quotation was prepared during his or her period of employment.
