Ultimate Staffing is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for one of our clients in St. Louis, MO. This is a direct hire role, full time positions from 6:30am-3:30 pm M-F.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with a variety of machines; brake press, mills, lathes, tube benders, Robotics. Strong metal knowledge, stainless steel, and experience with tube/tubular product fabrication manufacturing is highly desired. This role also requires occasional support to sales/account management supporting client planning and projects.

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and implementing manufacturing processes and systems to ensure efficient production operations. This role involves working closely with design, production, and quality teams to optimize manufacturing methods, enhance product quality, and reduce costs. The Manufacturing Engineer will also play a key role in troubleshooting production issues, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process Development: Design and develop manufacturing processes for new and existing products, ensuring they meet quality standards and production goals.

- Process Improvement: Analyze and improve current manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.

- Equipment Management: Select, specify, and oversee the installation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

- Production Support: Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions to maintain smooth operations.

- Quality Control: Work with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain product quality standards, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for quality issues.

- Lean Manufacturing: Implement lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma, to drive continuous improvement across the production floor.

- Project Management: Lead and manage manufacturing projects, from concept through to implementation, including new product introductions and process upgrades.

- Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for manufacturing processes, including work instructions, process flow charts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.

- Cost Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analyses of manufacturing processes and equipment, recommending cost-saving measures.

Qualifications:

- Education: REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably within a similar industry.

- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with CAM software.

- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and automation.

- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.

- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or higher) is a plus.

Work Environment:

- The role typically involves working in a manufacturing plant with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.

- Some travel may be required for vendor visits, equipment sourcing, or project-related activities.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various positions, including kneeling, crouching, and bending.
