Are you fascinated by visual effects and looking to make your mark on a high-energy, award-winning multiplayer game? Write Warz is seeking a creative and skilled Unity VFX Intern to bring dynamic visual flair to our game at our headquarters in Oviedo, Florida.


Write Warz has captured the hearts of players and critics alike, securing the Audience Choice Award at Dreamhack Dallas and Atlanta, along with receiving the QS reimagine education award, and is gearing up for an exciting early access release Q1 2025. This role is an incredible chance to contribute to a game that promises to deliver thrilling experiences to players around the globe


About the Position:

  • Location: Oviedo, Florida (in-person)
  • Role: Unity VFX Intern
  • Requirements: Strong skills in creating 2D visual effects within Unity; knowledge of rigging is a bonus
  • Duration: 3 month Internship


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement striking 2D visual effects within Unity to enhance gameplay and aesthetics
  • Collaborate closely with the art and development teams to ensure artistic vision and technical feasibility
  • Optimize VFX for performance across various devices
  • Assist with rigging and animation tasks if applicable
  • Participate in design and review sessions to iterate on VFX that align with game themes and mechanics
  • Conduct thorough testing and iteration of VFX implementations to refine visual impact and performance
  • Design and iterate on unique character abilities using VFX principles such as color, timing, anticipation and composition.


This position requires strong knowledge of Unity systems.
