Job Title: Senior Project Manager - IT Application/Software Development
Client Overview: Our client is a leading telecommunication company based in Dallas, Texas.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record in managing IT application or software development projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of hands-on experience in project management within the IT sector, with a strong focus on utilizing JIRA for project tracking and management. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Lead project teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to project milestones and deadlines.
- Resource Management: Effectively allocate resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to ensure project success. Monitor resource utilization and adjust as necessary to meet project requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management. Communicate project status, risks, and issues in a clear and timely manner.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Proactively monitor and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing contingency plans as needed.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget constraints. Provide accurate financial forecasts and regular budget updates to stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure that deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations. Conduct regular reviews and quality audits throughout the project lifecycle.
- Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring that all changes are properly documented, evaluated, and approved by stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on IT application or software development projects.
- Experience with project management tools, especially JIRA but Pegasystems is a plus.
- Good understanding of project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- PMI or PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
