We are looking for an energetic and results-driven individual with 7+ years of combined experience in utility-scale O&M activities of operational PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to fill our O&M Manager role, reporting to the EVP of Asset Management.


The O&M Manager is responsible for oversight of warranties and services agreements for a portfolio of ground-mounted, utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage facilities, ensuring that all O&M is undertaken in accordance with the agreed contractual scope. The O&M Manager will have a demonstrated history of working in the PV and BESS industry and be skilled in PV and BESS O&M, electrical maintenance and electrical troubleshooting. This position will work closely with third-party warranty and service agreement providers, external contractors, as well as our internal EPC and Development teams. In addition, this position will have supervisory responsibility over the Field Service Engineer position.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of PV and BESS facilities ensuring that all O&M and Warranty work is undertaken in accordance with the contractual scope and internal standards on time and on budget.
  • Schedule, facilitate and manage all routine and reactive maintenance with third party contractors.
  • Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of equipment issues using data acquisition and energy management software.
  • Address immediate, real-time asset operational issues as well as strategically consider long-term initiatives, such as preventative and incidental maintenance to optimize facility performance.
  • Play a key role in the operational planning of outages and maintenance requests to minimize the down time of operating assets
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure the facilities are operating at peak performance.
  • Be responsible for driving to closure open maintenance items and escalating issues to the appropriate authorized third-party equipment providers.
  • Ensure that work performed, and issues found at the facilities are documented properly.
  • Identify improvements to and contribute to product support procedures, troubleshooting guides and other service documentation.
  • Actively pursue cost avoidance and reductions for the Company by improving service process, simplifying work procedures, and reducing onsite visits.
  • Support due diligence of asset acquisitions and new development projects.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics or 7+ years of relevant experience required
  • Utility-scale renewables experience focused on asset, portfolio, or operations management
  • 7+ years of combined experience in O&M activities of operational PV and BESS
  • Demonstrated industry experience and comprehensive knowledge of PV and BESS
  • Proven knowledge of and ability to negotiate and leverage O&M contracts to achieve results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and/or Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Calendar)
  • The ideal candidate has experience with BESS and with electrical &/ or mechanical installation and commissioning including warranty and agreement planned and unplanned maintenance activities
  • Strong experience performing diagnostics and assessment of low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment
  • Must have an excellent work ethic, good communication and documenting skills
  • Availability to travel if required
  • Electrical Training or Journeyman Electrician License a plus
