Job Description
Fortiss, LLC is seeking a Payroll Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity for any payroll leader passionate about being in the weeds and actively participating in the full cycle, multi-company, multi-state payroll process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with the ability to work independently in a high-volume environment. He or she will also have a working knowledge of payroll laws and processes and have a strong foundation in ADP Workforce Now and Kronos Timekeeping.
Responsibilities
- Support payroll manager and work to ensure regular disbursement of payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Perform all tasks and provide services, conforming with policies, procedures, work instructions, training, codes of conduct, recognized best practices, safety laws, and regulations.
- Process new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions, and terminations accurately and timely.
- Ensure systems are set up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick, and vacation time in line with contracts.
- Attends and participates in learning opportunities and applies new processes, procedures, and philosophies.
- Audit W-4s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.
Qualifications
- 2-year degree in Accounting or equivalent financial field required.
- Must have 2 years experience in payroll processing for high-volume, multi-state, multi-company for a minimum of 1800 employees.
- Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and Kronos Timekeeping systems.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office, with expert experience in Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll laws and processes (including California payroll laws).
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
