Job Description


Fortiss, LLC is seeking a Payroll Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity for any payroll leader passionate about being in the weeds and actively participating in the full cycle, multi-company, multi-state payroll process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with the ability to work independently in a high-volume environment. He or she will also have a working knowledge of payroll laws and processes and have a strong foundation in ADP Workforce Now and Kronos Timekeeping.


Responsibilities


  1. Support payroll manager and work to ensure regular disbursement of payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
  2. Perform all tasks and provide services, conforming with policies, procedures, work instructions, training, codes of conduct, recognized best practices, safety laws, and regulations.
  3. Process new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions, and terminations accurately and timely.
  4. Ensure systems are set up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick, and vacation time in line with contracts.
  5. Attends and participates in learning opportunities and applies new processes, procedures, and philosophies.
  6. Audit W-4s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.


Qualifications


  • 2-year degree in Accounting or equivalent financial field required.
  • Must have 2 years experience in payroll processing for high-volume, multi-state, multi-company for a minimum of 1800 employees.
  • Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and Kronos Timekeeping systems.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office, with expert experience in Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll laws and processes (including California payroll laws).
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized.
