Laura Hunter + Shelby Kalchik


PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The marketing intern will assist the Marketing Manager and the VP of Marketing + Events with various digital, print, and experiential marketing initiatives + campaigns. NOTE: This is a hybrid position where time will be expected in the office and remotely.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Overview
  • Conduct market research for various campaigns + initiatives
  • Participate in weekly sales meeting and marketing + events meeting
  • Assist with data management systems and scheduling
  • Assist with social media content management and scheduling
  • Collaborate with the event, sales, and marketing teams to brainstorm new and innovative ideas for San Diego Magazine’s events and programs
  • Collaborate with marketing team to brainstorm new promos and forms of advertising
  • Assist with various circulation tasks such as, list building, magazine production, digital in-house guides and media kits, etc.
  • NOTE: this is not an inclusive list of all tasks that may be assigned to you


  1. Requirements
  • This internship is unpaid. Therefore, you must be receiving school credit in order to qualify for this intern position.
  • Must reside in San Diego, CA or within a 50 mile radius.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must radiate positivity with a go-getter attitude
  • Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Prior marketing + social media  experience is a plus (not required)
  • Must be ready to HAVE FUN
