We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Technician based in the Southeast US region. In this customer facing role, the ideal candidate will be considered a technical product and applications expert and act as a link to our global technical and operations teams. Working with new and existing customers, the candidate will build key relationships through troubleshooting, product development, quality, process improvement and other value-added activities.


Key functions of this role will include:

  • Supports the North American commercial team in troubleshooting, testing and validating collagen products for new and existing customers.
  • Enable our collagen products to move effectively through the customers’ end-to-end manufacturing processes: recipe formulation, filling and stuffing, cooking and smoking, packing and storing.
  • Build strong relationships with the customer’s R&D leads, operators, managers, and maintenance supervisors to provide a best-in-class customer experience.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities at existing customers and distributors.
  • Contribute technical expertise to prospecting with sales colleagues in order to acquire new business.
  • Proactively provide technical details on customers’ processing capabilities to R&D colleagues and contribute ideas on how to improve our products.
  • Act as the technical advocate for the customer within the organization, operating in line with strategic priorities.
  • Build and maintain up-to-date technical skills and industry networks, representing our company among industry peers.
  • Create exposure to and collect best in class practices.


Requirements

  • High school Diploma.
  • College Degree or Technical Training Preferred
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Working in meat processing plants, commonly cold, damp environments.
  • Frequent bending/ twisting as a result of testing/validating activities at customers.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
