Position Summary: The Human Resources Manager manages the day-to-day human resources activities at over assigned territory and distribution center location(s). The individual will function as the business partner to local and regional management and be responsible for mentoring and developing Human Resources support staff. Will also oversee employee relations issues, recruitment, compensation, benefits, and conduct in house training.


Required: High school diploma and 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a management or senior generalist role. Broad HR Generalist knowledge with experience in employee relations, recruitment, benefits, and compensation. Prior experience with health, retirement and leave administration programs a plus. Strong people skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees and management. Must be able to travel as needed.


Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of progressive HR experience. Working knowledge of Kenexa Brass Ring and UltiPro (HRIS system). PHR or SPHR and/or CEBS or CCP.


  • Provide counsel to employees and all levels of management on employee relations issues ensuring legal compliance with policy and laws.
  • Conduct internal investigations in accordance with Company policy and legal requirements.
  • with managers to successfully execute the annual performance review cycles and assists managers with performance issues/terminations of staff.
  • Work with Union representatives to facilitate a good working relationship as needed. Responsible for grievance administration, interpretation and compliance of CBA and participates in collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Oversee local unemployment compensation claims, local worker’s compensation claims and OSHA reporting logs to ensure compliance.
  • Possess an intimate understanding of the leave of absence process, including but not limited to FMLA, work comp disability.
  • Actively engage in communications with other HR team members around best practices and identifies opportunities to create consistency where necessary.
  • Partner with HR Management team to develop and implement targeted training and development programs; conducts regulatory training sessions as needed.
  • Assist with preparation of employee relations, compensation, and benefits budgets.
  • Assist the benefits team and employees as needed during annual open enrollment with an extensive understanding of all benefits provided to employees.
  • Conducting job analysis and job descriptions creation.
  • Support the Director of HR with the executive of HR strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of state and local DOT standards and requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
