Interim Speech Therapist - Skilled Nursing Facility

Pay Rate per Hour: $65 /hour

Total Gross Pay Weekly: $2600

We’re looking for a hands-on Speech Therapist to commit to a 30-day contract in Southwest Florida.

This interim Speech Therapist is responsible for oversight of daily clinical and administrative operations to assure that each resident receives the highest quality of care.

When you join the LeaderStat team as an interim Speech Therapist, you’ll be connected with a dedicated specialist before and during your assignment. They will work with you to coordinate onboarding and provide support throughout your entire assignment.

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of experience working in a clinical setting and serving geriatric patients
  • Previous experience in a long-term care setting preferred
  • Exceptional ability to empathize with residents
  • Current certificate of clinical competence (C.C.C.)
  • M.A. or M.S. degree in Communicative Disorder/Speech-Language Pathology
  • Up-to-date compliance

o Tuberculosis (TB) test (two-step is preferred)

o Physical exam within the last 12 months

Job Duties

  • Determines each patient's need for skilled therapy based on objective and documented criteria
  • Evaluates patients within established protocol of physician's order
  • Conducts the evaluation according to the standardized or recommend techniques and procedures including timely documentation
  • Develops treatment plan at the end of the evaluation which includes measurable and objective long- and short-term goals for each patient based on the evaluation data
  • Follows each treatment plan in an objective, measurable and documented approach
  • Prepares a daily work schedule and completes all treatments scheduled
  • Requests assistance or adjusts therapy scheduled to avoid interference with the quality of service
