MAIN RESPONSIBILITY:

  • The Workers’ Compensation Claims Administrator will process and approve claims for workers’ compensation benefits and assist with liability insurance claims.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Administration of workers’ compensation claims.
  • Maintains database of claims; prepares summary reports of collected data.
  • Provides training regarding injury claim processes.
  • Manages multi-state claim management strategies critical to the organization's success.
  • Responsible for reporting, investigation, and analysis; litigation management; resolution/outcome management; and the delivery of claim information.
  • Manages litigated and moderately complex claims.
  • Approves medical treatment, hospitalization, and surgery.
  • Creates and develops relationships with internal parties, claims adjusters, insurers, TPAs, outside legal counsel, and other claims related parties.
  • Directs claims policies and procedures within the claim information analysis.
  • Take after hours/weekend calls in emergency situations.
  • Travel to site locations as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires 5 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
  • Experience with general lines of commercial insurance desired.


SKILLS:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of applicable workers compensation laws, procedures, and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical and technical terminology used in workers compensation cases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations explaining rules and policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships at all levels within the company and with outside vendors.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to work on unforgiving surfaces and access all areas of operations throughout facility to conduct investigations when necessary.
  • Prolonged periods of exchanged standing/sitting and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold environments while onsite.
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
  • Training 100% onsite, hybrid schedule determined on business needs.
  • Travel 20%.
