The Company/Opportunity

I am currently partnered with a leading remote HVAC Optimization as a Service company located in Boston, Massachusetts. While this company specializes in real-time and continuous monitoring, they autonomously operate and control HVAC systems through their control optimization software and HVAC experts. We remotely control and optimize HVAC systems 24/7/365 to deliver automatic energy savings and revenue to multifamily residential buildings and hotels using advanced algorithms. They are looking for a Sr. Building Intelligence Engineer based in the Boston area to join and help ensure that all of their clients buildings are adapted to work successfully with their product.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Conduct on-site assessments for initial savings estimates.
  • Use modeling tools for energy analysis based on assessments and data.
  • Manage installation and setup of services, ensuring timely project completion.
  • Establish communication and test control sequences with support from the programming team.
  • Complete final commissioning to meet requirements.
  • Handle incentive applications and procurement.
  • Interview building staff for control protocol insights.
  • Support sales with market details and proposals.
  • Act as a technical resource for live buildings.
  • Provide customer support during and post-installation.
  • Understand local incentives and regulations.
  • Maintain contractor relationships and manage procurement.
  • Optimize systems for the local market.
  • Stay informed on relevant local policies.


Requirements:


  • Academic background in Engineering, passionate about HVAC, building automation, or mechanical/electrical engineering.
  • 2-5 years experience in energy auditing, energy services, MEP engineering, or controls/building automation.
  • Familiarity with energy incentive programs.
  • Communication and confidence facilitating and directing external vendors and stakeholders
  • Ability to travel within the greater Boston area.
  • Eager to grow and tackle new opportunities in a fast-growing startup.
  • Quick learner, proactive in improving processes.
  • Seeks efficiency and optimization.
  • Preferred qualifications: experience with MEP drawings, managing installation/retrofit projects, building automation systems, and Niagara Tridium products.
