PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To develop, manage and enhance the strategic execution of customer service, sales, and technical customer support for client, with a focus on building materials/systems evaluation and related testing and reporting (Uniform Evaluation Services, or UES). This position identifies, develops and tracks strategic relationships with partners and/or potential customers that leads to the development of new business opportunities, and performs to the best of one's abilities the responsibilities and functions as outlined herein.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement strategies to support and expand our customer base; lead staff contact for building products (UES).
- Work with the building materials/systems (UES) and marketing teams to establish and execute annual sales and marketing plan.
- Organize and input prospective customer information into tracking database.
- Attend domestic and international trade shows; assist in planning as necessary.
- Assist in pre and post Trade Show customer contact development and communications.
- Maintain client follow up for projects until the prospect is confirmed to move forward.
- Assist with Technical Articles, Media Posts and Social Media Posting.
- Works closely within the building products (UES) workflow and with other BU’s as necessary to facilitate transition from business development to evaluation report generation.
- Work with existing and potential clients to expand services and identify growth opportunities. Includes travel to client locations.
- Assist current and prospective clients with customer service inquiries and when necessary, collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues.
- Execution of Sales Cycle - quotations/follow-up/closing.
- Assists with other business development programs when appropriate.
- Works with Senior Vice President of building materials/systems (UES) to establish and maintain sales metrics for program.
- Acts as a resource and subject matter expert for other client staff to assist with their questions relative to building materials/systems (UES).
- Utilize building materials/systems knowledge and technical expertise to execute projects and assignments.
- Listens to instructions and executes based on instructions given.
- Regularly exercises a high degree of discretion and independent judgement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Assists the Vice President Industry Relations and Business Development and department leaders in various projects as directed.
- Collaborates with other client BU’s and support departments to ensure appropriate inclusiveness when required.
- Perform duties in an organized and thoughtful manner.
- Adheres to the Company’s policies, procedures, code of conduct, and confidentiality requirements.
- Operates at all times in a safe manner.
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned by the VP Industry Relations and Business Development or Company executive.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to work with a team as well as independently.
- Typically works in a climate-controlled environment with occasional duties required in various outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms, to listen and hear and/or read on and through electronic devices for extended periods of time.
- Uses varying degrees of cognitive skill sets i.e., analyzing, processing, performing, reading, comprehending, writing, performing specialized tasks, communicating, leading, calculating, crafting, negotiating, following directives, etc.
- Objectively and rationally makes complex decisions.
- Effectively interacts and communicates with all levels of employees, management, and executives, and with outside vendors, agencies, and emergency personnel as needed or directed.
- Ability to occasionally adjust schedule to meet the demands of international business hours.
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- Ability to travel up to 25% Domestically/Internationally in a calendar year.
- Ability to maintain a safe and organized home office workspace.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree in a related technical or scientific discipline or combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 4 years of relevant work experience required, preferably in the building products industry.
- Ability to meet deadlines, be a self-starter and be self-motivated as this is a highly independent role.
- Working knowledge of the building materials/systems certification and evaluation report process.
- Basic knowledge of codes, standards, and regulatory requirements for the building products industry.
- Strong consultative and interpersonal relationship building skills, highly desired.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with potential customers/partners.
- Ability to collect, organize and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail.
- Solid PC skills; proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet searches.
- Proficiency in using CRM software, (ex .SALESFORCE), preferred.
SUPERVISION:
This position directly and daily reports to the Vice President Industry Relations and Business Development.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
