Job Description:

Join our IT Infrastructure team as a Senior Systems Engineer at a growing financial services organization in Portland, OR. You'll provide hands-on expertise, mentorship, and tactical guidance for maintaining compute, storage, backup, and data center environments. Responsibilities include ensuring system performance, security, and availability, troubleshooting issues, and leading system-related projects. We're seeking candidates with most of the following:


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical expert and escalation point.
  • Enforce best practices for system security and reliability.
  • Manage Windows server administration, Data Center maintenance, observability tools, patching, incident response, and documentation.
  • Lead and execute Systems Administration projects.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in systems engineering, with 3+ years in a senior role.
  • Desired certifications: MCSE, VCP, CompTIA Security+.
  • Expertise in Windows OS, with Linux knowledge a plus.
  • Strong experience in enterprise-level infrastructure technologies.
  • Familiarity with tools like Windows Server, Azure, VMware ESXi, etc.
  • Proven track record in project leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
