Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development:
  • Design, develop, and test command and data handling, interface cards, analog to digital interface systems, power subsystems and other electrical architectures.
  • Create and analyze circuit designs, including digital and analog interfaces, solar array, power distribution management systems. and software defined radio systems.
  • Develop detailed schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Perform simulations and modeling to predict system performance and identify potential issues to include battery lifetime simulations.
  • Assist with evaluation of radiation tolerance and radiation susceptibility analyses.
  1. System Integration:
  • Integrate electrical components with other spacecraft systems, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to achieve optimal design solutions.
  • Conduct system-level testing and validation to ensure reliability and functionality.
  1. Documentation and Compliance:
  • Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and test reports.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  1. Troubleshooting and Support:
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to electrical systems during the development and testing phases.
  • Provide technical support, such as production of procedures/work instructions for production and operational spacecraft.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering and aerospace technologies.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing designs and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in electrical circuit design and analysis tools (e.g., SPICE, Altium Designer, or similar).
  • Proficiency in circuit design, manufacture, and test.
  • Experience with power subsystem design, including power conversion, distribution, and management.
  • Experience with analog to digital design and test.
  • Knowledge of communication systems and architectures, including RF and digital communication.
  • Familiarity with radiation environmental conditions and requirements a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must have the ability to qualify for and maintain a US Government Top Secret security clearance. Active clearance upon hire not required.



Job Description: As a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer at BlackVe, Inc, you will be an integral part of our dynamic engineering team, responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing spacecraft electrical systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing critical spacecraft electrical components, including circuits, test equipment, and supporting on-orbit operations. This role requires a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, hands-on experience with electronics design and test for both digital and analog, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. You will be required to assist in prototyping, testing, documentation, and operations support as we push innovations at speed for our customers.
