The primary function of this role is to lead the milk supply planning process in collaboration with the milk procurement team and key supply chain stakeholders. The role will work cross-functionally with multiple teams including, but not limited to: milk procurement team, finance, supply network operations planning team, project management, manufacturing, industrial planning, and strategy teams. This role is responsible for leading the milk supply planning process for the Yogurt Business Unit, focusing on conventional and nGMO milk supply.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate monthly demand forecast into milk demand needs for each milk type and milk component
  • Support short-term milk supply planning process by monitoring ebb and flow of production plans and impact to milk demand needs
  • Monitor weekly milk orders/demand and weekly balancing costs
  • Manage communication and serve as liaison between milk procurement team, supply chain team (supply planning, demand planning), industrial planning, and manufacturing
  • Support and lead (as needed) analysis of milk supply strategy for both mid- and long-term outlook
  • Develop and maintain open channels of communication and relationship with key cross-functional partners (supply planning, demand planning, industrial planning, and manufacturing)
  • Manage milk demand model including regular updates, maintenance, and data mapping
  • Collaborate with milk procurement and finance teams to reconcile balancing cost reporting, and update rolling forecast for milk balancing budget
  • Responsible for mapping mid- to long-term demand forecast and supporting milk supply strategy development
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining yearly bottoms-up balancing budget forecast with inputs from key stakeholders, including alignment with milk procurement leadership and finance
  • Manage and lead key milk planning meetings including creating agenda, content, and driving discussions on relevant/critical topics
  • Support milk team planning governance process by providing key updates and inputs to inform mid- to long-term supply strategy


PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain operations, or related subject
  • Approx. 7+ years of experience in sales and operations planning or manufacturing, preferably within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) or food industry supply chain operations
  • Experience working with perishable products is a plus


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong financial acumen and business understanding
  • Excellent stakeholder influencing skills
  • Experience with cross-functional team management or leadership
  • Strong project management/organization skills.
  • Success in problem solving and critical thinking
  • Very strong Excel skills with experience creating/manipulating basic excel models
