TECHNICAL ARCHITECT, CLOUD Architect & FinOps

About this Role:

You are a hands-on SME passionate about designing and implementing cloud solutions that can help our customers achieve anything imaginable. Do you have experience with bleeding-edge cloud technologies? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our Technical Architect, Cloud Services role.

As a Technical Architect at Cloud Services, you will be part of our core consulting team that enables our customers to solve complex technology problems. You will work with a diverse and specialized team of Cloud experts, engineers, and various SMEs to develop and deliver cloud solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Azure (specialization), AWS, and GCP. You will also stay updated on technology and ecosystem trends, especially those related to cloud infrastructure, distributed architecture, and compute services.

Key Responsibilities:


Cloud Architecture Design:

  • Implement complex cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure services (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
  • Develop comprehensive cloud architectures that align with business objectives and technology strategy.
  • Ensure solutions are based on a well-architected framework that factors in performance, operational excellence, security, scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency requirements.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate software solutions and define integration and testing methods.

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers and developers, guiding best practices and unblocking technical issues.
  • As an SME for Cloud, you will stay current with the latest services, tools, and best practices.
  • Oversee the deployment, management, and maintenance of cloud resources.
  • Automate deployment and configuration management processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep.
  • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud services.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud systems.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide cloud solutions that meet their needs.

Performance and Optimization:

  • Monitor and optimize the performance and security of cloud systems to ensure they meet service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Implement cost management strategies to optimize cloud spending.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues when they arise.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
  • AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-500, AZ-700, SC-200, or other specialized certifications from any hyperscaler.
  • Experience as an Engineer and Architect or similar roles in the cloud services field
  • Hands-on experience with system administration & continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps or other similar tools.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP or equivalent cloud technologies
  • Understanding of FinOps concepts and hands-on experience with a variety of FinOps tooling (cloud-native or third-party)
  • Deep understanding of core cloud concepts and technologies, e.g. compute, network, storage, distributed architectures, and DevOps
  • Strong skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (e.g. Windows, UNIX) and databases (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Experience with event streaming platforms (e.g. Kafka) and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing customer needs
