Nestled in the heart of Strongsville overlooking the Town Square, Don’s Pomeroy House is a meticulously restored mid-19th century mansion renowned for its unparalleled culinary offerings and exceptional hospitality. Since 1980, we have proudly served Northeast Ohio as part of Strang Corporation, which operates Don’s Lighthouse in Cleveland and over 40 Panera Cafes across greater Philadelphia and Salt Lake City. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to uphold our tradition of warm hospitality and delivering innovative menu selections.


Responsibilities:

· Operations Management: Oversee the long- and short-term planning, as well as day-to-day operations of the restaurant.

· Team Leadership: Attract, retain, and motivate employees; hire, train, mentor, and supervise staff to ensure excellence in both front- and back-of-house operations; conduct performance and salary reviews; discipline and terminate as appropriate.

· Cultural Development: Foster a culture of hospitality, professionalism, and teamwork.

· Scheduling: Efficiently schedule employees, mindful of labor cost management.

· Financial Oversight: Manage profit and loss, menu costing, inventory, purchasing, and labor scheduling; ensuring the restaurant’s budget objectives are met or exceeded.

· Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors.

· Problem Solving: Identify and efficiently resolve operational challenges.

· Interpersonal Skills: Interact with diverse individuals calmly and impartially.

· Proactive Approach: Display a proactive attitude, identifying and efficiently resolving potential issues.

· Compliance: Adherence to company policies, state/federal regulations, and operational standards.

· Leadership: Coach and follow up with staff to maintain operational and excellence.

· Flexibility: Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, in a dynamic environment.

· Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to meet business objectives.


Requirements:

· Experience: 5+ years managing a high-volume upscale restaurant.

· Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; high comfort level with technology (POS system, inventory control, Microsoft Office)

· Financial Acumen: Understanding of profit and loss, menu costing, inventory, purchasing, and labor scheduling.

· Compliance: Adherence to sanitation, food safety standards, company policies, and state/federal regulations.

· Leadership: Coach and follow up with staff to maintain operational standards and a safe workplace.
