Electrical Engineer I


Aviation Ground Equipment Corp. (AGEC) is seeking a driven and hands-on Electrical Engineer to support the development, sustainment, and support for AGEC’s Ground Power Modernization (GPM) program. As the prime contractor to the US Air Force, AGEC is developing the next generation of ground power carts and supporting equipment to support the fleet of aircraft, including F-35, B-2, B-52, and F-16, among others. This role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to get real time and hands-on experience supporting product development, documentation, testing, and manufacturing.


AGEC is an industry leader in the manufacturing and supply of ground support equipment (GSE) to global commercial and military customers and end users. AGEC operates two divisions, our OEM division designs and produces world-class GSE supporting a wide range of military aircraft platforms on behalf of defense prime contractors and Government program offices. Our Commercial Division distributes an industry-recognized line card of ground support equipment, parts, and service to global MRO, airline operators, Government agencies, and aviation end users. Our GSE line card includes power carts, baggage handling equipment, tugs and tow carts, air handling equipment, and other items used on the flight line to support operations.


What you will do:


  • Support the life cycle of new product development from concept, through design and development, testing, and product support.
  • Analog circuit design, digital circuit design, and software design and troubleshooting. This includes an interface to electromechanical systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate designs to comply with product specifications.
  • Conducts validation, verification, and qualification testing. Verify designs with accurate consideration for power quality and performance, system interfaces, and physical environment.
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components and by soliciting observations from operators.
  • Provides product support as appropriate by isolating faults and resolving design issues.
  • Monitors the activities of subcontracted technical services.
  • Document designs, specifications, engineering changes, and test reports.
  • Perform other duties and cross-training as assigned.


What you will need:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
  • Minimum one year of experience in electrical engineering product design and development, preferably in power-related applications. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in the military and aerospace market segment.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to join and participate in a project and a team, with the capability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to plan and organize.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to perform work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
