Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Engineer to enhance our Engineering department's efforts in establishing and implementing standards that ensure a cost-effective and dependable distribution network.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and uphold construction standards and specifications for the distribution network, incorporating innovative technologies and materials.
- Identify and assess new materials to optimize design, construction, and maintenance processes while continuously seeking improvements.
- Conduct research and prepare specifications for significant material purchases related to equipment.
- Evaluate new products and review equipment failures to implement corrective actions.
- Provide expert technical guidance to the design and construction teams of the distribution system.
- Create, publish, and disseminate construction specification manuals to guarantee compliance with strength and clearance standards, minimizing costs while adhering to regulations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of five years of experience in electric distribution, transmission, or substation engineering within a utility environment.
- Engineer-in-training status with the capability to obtain a Professional Engineer license in Minnesota.
- Proficient understanding of applicable standards and codes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code.
- Emphasis on Power in Electrical Engineering.
- Possession of a Professional Engineer license in Minnesota.
- Experience with drafting software.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in electric distribution system applications, with a focus on Power in Electrical Engineering, and familiarity with relevant codes and drafting tools.
