The Role:

The Director of Product Management & Sourcing (Building Products) leads a purchasing team responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services. Manages end-to-end sourcing and the coordination of processes such as major source changes, or cost reduction and the follow up on quotes to identify and abate risks to ensure seamless transition that meets product technical, financial, and other requirements. This role reports to the Vice President Sales and Marketing.


Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors to optimize pricing, quality, and delivery timelines. Has a key role in establishing American Granby’s vision, strategy, and product roadmap and has overall responsibility for leading, growing and managing the product portfolio with clear category and segment strategies.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Hold regular vendor reviews focused on tactical objectives of cost & service as well as strategic opportunities for growth and new products.
  • Work with sales managers to identify product offering gaps and identify vendors that fill identified product gaps.
  • Responsible for understanding and acting on market drivers to develop new products, optimize existing products across all geographic locations. 
  • Responsible for evaluating market trends, application needs, competitive landscape and connecting market data to generate cohesive product strategies and roadmaps, and marketing plan to grow the business.
  • Develop and implement pricing and profit margin initiatives in order to achieve annual financial objectives.
  • Monitor competitors to ensure AGI products are competitive in look, price, and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a technical space and is comfortable in supporting a team effort.
  • Ability to assess and work with both qualitative and quantitative data.


Specialized Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated success in translating brand and category objectives into strategies and plans.
  • Knowledge of building products sales distribution channels would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of building materials markets, channels and distribution. Experience within pump/well, pool/spa, irrigation, plumbing markets, hardware, and applications as well as wholesale distribution would be beneficial.
  • Four-year business, marketing or engineering degree preferred plus 10+ years of experience as a Product Manager and/or Purchasing Manager.
