Summary:

Lead responsibility for procurement, pricing, supply chain, business growth and the overall financial health of the business.

The role you will play:
  • Purchasing
    1. Direct the purchases of volatile ingredients (micro ingredients)
    2. Maintain Positions & Pricing necessary to retain customers while improving profitability
    3. Provide coaching and direct Supervision to Director of Procurement and Logistics
    4. Negotiate with suppliers on pricing and rebate/incentive agreements
    5. Maintain awareness on volatility of global markets
    6. Maximize Preferred Supplier Program.
      1. Manage appropriate pricing positions (standard v cost)
      2. Work with CFO, GM and sales to audit P&L data and communicate results.
  • Lead the development of proprietary products.
  • Connect with sales, production, and administrative staff(s) to ensure seamless experience for the customer.
  • Work with the GM to set goals for the business that ensure both short success and long-term growth.

Job Requirements

Details:

Required Skills/ Abilities:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree/MBA in Economics, Agricultural Business, or Animal Science desired
  • Minimum of 5 years related Director level experience, preferably in the feed/ food manufacturing industry
  • In depth knowledge of the global markets - awareness of areas of volatility
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline of ingredients traded on a global scale - micro ingredients ideal
  • Independent decision maker - able to make quick, informed decisions
  • Track Record of success in identifying and maintaining appropriate positions for maximum profitability
  • Adept at setting pricing to maintain customer retention while providing high quality products.
  • Ability to collaborate across all functions (finance and accounting, operations, sales, marketing, human resources, research & development and/or engineering) to achieve profitable growth initiatives.
  • Inquisitive
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
