As an Administrative Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support for various areas of indirect tax compliance, including unclaimed property filing and the exemption certificate process.
Opportunity: Contract (4-months)
Compensation: $18-20/hour
Location: Chesapeake, VA
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the sales tax exemption certificate process to include reviewing, filing and scanning sales tax exemption certificates, data entry, customer service and research.
- Responsible for providing timely compliant internal exemption certificates to vendors.
- Assist employees and vendors on unclaimed property due diligence letters inquiries.
- Assist Compliance team with Unclaimed Property filings
- Assist Compliance team with inquiries from internal and external customers regarding indirect tax issues.
- Assists with general tax compliance support including contacting customers, data entry, report running, printing, scanning and faxing documents.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year of experience in a related field required
- Proficiency within Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen sense of detail.
- Self-motivated, engaged by a fast-paced environment and handling challenges and tight deadlines with ease.
