Job Description:

As a GHG Facilities Engineer, you will lead the planning, development, and implementation of greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction projects at our Permian facilities. You will leverage your expertise in engineering and environmental management to enhance sustainability efforts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with business objectives. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management, and stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities:


Opportunity Identification:

Proactively identify and scope new opportunities for GHG abatement within facility operations.

Develop proposals for potential projects, including feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and impact assessments.

Project Development:

Develop Stage 1 through Stage 3 project deliverables and support Stage 4 for assigned GHG reduction projects.

Ensure projects meet GHG abatement hurdles, maintain technical quality, complete facility design, and are executed on plan regarding time and budget. Projects include reduction in flaring, fuel usage, and methane emissions.

Oversee transition and handover to executing teams.

Technical Expertise and Operations Support:

Provide technical guidance on GHG mitigation technologies and strategies, staying abreast of industry trends and regulations.

Support operations through facilities surveillance, optimization, and modifications using fundamental process safety concepts and risk management principles.

Compliance and Repartint:

Ensure all GHG projects comply with current and anticipated regulations at local, state, and federal levels.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

Work closely with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to align GHG reduction efforts with overall business objectives.

Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to integrate GHG reduction initiatives.

Continuous Improvement and Process Safety:

Contribute to the development and improvement of GHG management systems and processes.

Develop and incorporate process safety engineering principles into facilities design to ensure safe operation.

Participate in facilities and systems reviews, including P&ID, HAZOP, 3D Model, and Protective Systems Reviews.

Upstream Technology and Innovation:

Support the development, qualification, and deployment of new Upstream technologies.

Provide technology-specific projects and operations support, maintaining global standards owned by the Facilities Engineering Job Family.


Qualifications:

  • Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-6 years of experience in an Oil and Gas engineering role with a focus on facilities or upstream unconventional.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and executing projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
