PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To assist with the functional aspects of Uniform Evaluation Service and perform to the best of one's abilities the responsibilities and functions as outlined herein for the specific business unit(s) so defined above.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Reviews supporting data such as test reports, sealed engineering calculations, descriptive literature and other pertinent data against requirements found in the referenced codes and or criteria.
  • Process the information reviewed to develop Evaluation Reports or Listings which document conformance with noted codes.
  • Assist the BU with new sales and existing Customer relations.
  • Attend industry events to advance the UES program specifically and client in general.
  • Responsible for assuring compliance of the program to ANSI and other applicable accreditation bodies requirements through the adherence to quality management systems and management reviews.
  • Makes independent technical choices and recommendations for actions on matters of consequences to the business unit.
  • Reviews supporting data such as test reports, calculations, descriptive literature, and other pertinent data against requirements found in the referenced codes and or criteria.
  • Contributes as one of the department's team players for various projects.
  • Listens to instructions and executes based on instructions given.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Assists the Vice Presidents, Director and Senior Engineers in various projects as directed.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure appropriate inclusiveness.
  • Adheres to the Company's policies, procedures, code of conduct, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Always operates in a safe manner.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned by the Director or Company executive.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to work as a team member and/or independently
  • Works in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Uses varying degrees of cognitive skill sets analyzing, processing, performing, reading, comprehending, writing, performing specialized tasks, communicating, leading, calculating, and following directives.
  • Objectively and rationally makes complex decisions.
  • Effectively interacts and communicates with all levels of employees, management, and executives, and with outside vendors, agencies, and emergency personnel as needed or directed.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% Nationally in a calendar year.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS - Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
  • EIT registration minimum, PE License preferred
  • Solid PC skills.
  • Computer literacy sufficient to operate spreadsheet and word processing applications (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint).
