Description

This is a hands-on position and will be responsible for overseeing product development cycles from start to release to production. The products range from 3KW to 60KW smart generators, multiple trailer chassis/systems, Rigid Wall Systems, Water Treatment, and other power management controls/distribution boxes throughout the Expeditionary Sector enterprise. Responsible for providing and leading complex technical activities of assigned programs including planning, scheduling, and direction to a team of engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure effective coordination of projects.


The Lead Engineer must possess sufficient technical knowledge of their programs to identify problems, provide guidance to team , and be sure the work product fulfills requirements. Proactively lead improvement initiatives.


Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner
  • Support proposals, technical write ups, and provides quotes to Sales and BD
  • Completion of activity on-time and budget while meeting the applicable technical requirements
  • Lead a technical group independently
  • Develop electrical layouts based on specifications/requirements
  • Complies with the engineering playbook and works to optimize its content
  • Drives best practices and lessons learned
  • Proactively drives leadership sponsored initiatives
  • Manages budgets, costs, and schedule inputs for projects assigned
  • Makes commitments and keeps them.
  • Drives the compliance with design to cost, weight, and manufacture
  • Participates in and leads technical reviews
  • Hands-on building, fitting, and testing prototypes
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces, and defends the mission, values, and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
  • Available for travel as required
  • Communicates clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel, the customer, and vendors as required

  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint is essential). SAP experience a plus
  • Possesses Strong, proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Possesses Strong, proven problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
  • Mechanically/Electrically inclined and able to problem solve with little information.
  • Product development experience- concept to production release in a production enviroment.
  • Ability to offer their own opinions and commentaries while being flexible and responsive to constructive feedback by managers and peers.
  • Application of technical principles/techniques from established practices, as well as a functional knowledge/understanding of electrical engineering processes, techniques, and practices to quickly/accurately perceive the fit, form, function, and manufacturability of design.
  • Possesses ability to create and check Schematics/Wiring Diagrams
  • SolidWorks and Solidwoks Electrical experience required; AutoCAD experience required;
  • In-depth knowledge of ASTM E1851-15, IEEE 299, MIL-STD-285, MIL-STD-188/125, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464.
  • Military/ defense experience preferred.


We’re looking for someone with 6+ years of industry experience in engineering, and a Bachelor’s degree in some form of engineering or a related field. PE License, MS, or MBA are a plus.
