Position: Sr. Clinical Research Budget Analyst


Location: Silver Spring, MD (20910)

Type: Hybrid (3 days remote, 2 days in-person)


Functional Responsibilities:

  • Develop study budgets and negotiate with external funding agencies and sponsors, including industry and contract research organizations.
  • Collaborate closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) and study teams to ensure accurate budget capture of all expenses.
  • Facilitate budgeting for ancillary departments, such as lab, radiology, PCI, and investigational pharmacy, as needed for each study.
  • Aim to meet expected turnaround times for budget development and negotiation.
  • Provide training and support on complex budget topics to junior team members and the research community as needed.
  • Participate in research coordinator training by developing and delivering presentations at monthly meetings or quarterly orientations.
  • Support the CTO manager in developing routine productivity reports as needed.
  • Participate in QA/QI initiatives as assigned.
  • Complete financial builds in OnCore Clinical Research Management Systems (CRMS).
  • Serve as a resource for patient care billing compliance, participating in training and education as needed.
  • Assist in developing internal policies, procedures, and job aids related to clinical trial billing.
  • Maintain adherence to the standards for responsible conduct of research.
  • Use research funds and resources appropriately and maintain data confidentiality as required.
  • Meet all annual job-related training and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 5 Years of prior Experience with developing study budgets and sponsor negotiations.
  • 5 Years of prior clinical trials/research experience either as clinical research coordinator or in clinical research administration in academic institutions, bio-pharmaceuticals or a CRO
  • Bachelors Degree (Sciences, Health Administration, Computer Science)
  • Strong experience with the use of computers and web-based applications in a security-focused environment.
  • Ability to analyze clinical research protocols, assess study budgets, and analyze clinical trial contracts including payment terms.
  • Ability to interact across the organization, and negotiate with the clinical research sponsor/ clinical research organization personnel in a professional manner
