Paralegal – Corporate Securities/Government Investigations

Great opportunity for a Paralegal to join a leading international law firm in their Richmond, VA office on a direct hire basis. This position supports attorneys and more senior paralegals in a practice group focused on white collar criminal investigations. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Basic knowledge and application of Federal, State and Local rules. Stays abreast of current rules changes and informs team of same.
  • Drafts routine correspondence, memoranda to file, and basic documents using internal templates and/or established forms; correspondence primarily used internally and reviewed by a lawyer or more experienced paralegal.
  • Performs routine document reviews, i.e., chronological and alphabetical review of documents. Assists with document organization, and preparation for discovery, trial, administrative, and/or business closings, as applicable and as directed by a lawyer or more experienced paralegal.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred. Paralegal certificate, National Association of Legal Assistants certification or specialty certificate provided by State helpful.
  • 1 or 2 years of prior case clerk or similar experience, including internship experience, required, particularly if experience involved work with documents. Case clerk, paralegal, or general legal experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and application of Federal, State and Local rules.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic technological and research skills necessary to pull requested documents from online resources required; familiarity with legal technology and computer databases preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, and present a positive, professional image with colleagues, professional staff, and vendors.
  • Ability to work overtime or travel, as needed, on short notice essential.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions.
