Job Title: Logistics Assistant

Location: Marshfield, WI

Reports to: Shipping & Receiving Manager

 

Job Purpose: The Logistics Assistant will support the Shipping & Receiving Manager in ensuring efficient and smooth logistics operations. This role is essential for maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating shipments, and upholding warehouse safety standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments; verify contents against purchase orders and quality standards.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
  • Maintain organized inventory and storage areas; conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve logistics issues.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and according to standard procedures.
  • Uphold health and safety guidelines; maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide support to other warehouse functions as needed.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or related fields is a plus.
  • 2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems; experience with ERP software preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipments and inventory records.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment safely.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to warehouse operations.
