Reporting to the Vice President of Merchandising and Planning, the Inventory Analyst supports optimum inventory levels to maximize sales and margin. This role will focus on inventory allocation to our 3 retail stores and our wholesale accounts. The ideal candidate will be able to recommend and execute transfer orders between all 4 sales channels (Ecommerce, Retail, Specialty and Major Accounts) to maximize sales. In this role, you will pull weekly, daily and ad hoc reports to analyze historical and current selling and present to key stakeholders. This individual will work closely with the Finance and Operations team to ensure our accurate inventory levels. They will also collaborate with each team at Hammitt, playing a key role in ensuring we have the right product in the right place.


Responsibilities: 

  • Build and maintain weekly selling reports and present recaps to cross-functional teams
  • Analyze selling data across all channels on a weekly basis and report on re-order recommendations, top seller data, and inventory transfer opportunities
  • Build a replenishment tool and replenish the Retail Stores on a weekly basis
  • Assist with forecasting inventory levels by channel across categories and seasons by analyzing historical and current data, using sell through and weeks of supply metrics
  • Utilize customer and sales data to determine needs of stores such as inventory levels, market trends, and product assortment, also identify trends of current and past products
  • Work closely with Production team on Open Order reports and monitoring incoming purchase orders
  • Occasionally travel to store locations to review product mix, obtain feedback, and analyze market competition and trends
  • Partner with Warehouse and Retail team on inventory counts, transfer orders and special requests, with occasional travel to our warehouse location
  • Execute transfer orders between DTC and Wholesale channels to maximize sales
  • Work with Wholesale team on account sales orders, ensuring inventory is allocated to the proper sales orders and transfer inventory if necessary
  • Takes initiative – anticipate and responds quickly to problems and takes appropriate action
  • Displays resourcefulness – responds creatively, practically, and with composure to challenging situations
  • Prioritizes effectively – based on expectations and business goals, assess the importance of tasks and issues, communicating to Senior Manager 
  • Grasps new information and ideas timely and incorporate them into current processes
  • Practices good business decision-making by analyzing information from a variety of sources to make effective decisions and solve problems
  • Delivers clear, concise, and well-organized messages, written and verbal
  • Demonstrate appropriate technical skills and business knowledge to perform job duties

Core Competencies and Accomplishments: 

  • Minimum 2-3 years of planning, allocation or operations experience preferably in the fashion industry
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred 
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills, including VLOOKUP formulas, Pivot Tables, and logic formulas 
  • Prior retail math knowledge (Revenue, Margin, Weeks of Supply, Sell Through, etc)
  • NetSuite experience and Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Enjoys analyzing data, and problem solving on the fly
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for improving and building new processes
  • Excited to work cross functionally and build strong relationships with peers
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
