POSITION SUMMARY


The Director of Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the Surgenex’s compliance program. This role ensures that all business operations and practices adhere to relevant laws, regulations and ethical standards. The Director of Compliance works closely with various departments to assess and mitigate compliance risks, conduct investigations, and promote a culture of ethical behavior.  


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compliance program management:
  • Develop, implement, and manage an effective compliance program.
  • Remains current on all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards and ensure these are reflected in practice and procedure.
  • Risk assessment:
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to assess and address compliance risks associated with business initiatives.
  • Policy development and documentation:
  • Draft and update company compliance procedures in accordance to Surgenex’s quality systems, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Training and Education:
  • Provide training and education to employees on compliance and related topics.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and ethics throughout Surgenex.
  • Monitoring and Auditing:
  • Implement monitoring and auditing processes, in alignment with Surgenex’s Quality Management System, to assess the effectiveness of the compliance program.
  • Investigate and address any instances of non-compliance.
  • Reporting and Communication:
  •  Prepare regular reports on the status of the compliance program for executive leadership.
  • Serve as a point of contact for compliance related communication within Surgenex.
  • Investigations:
  • Conduct internal investigations into alleged violations of company policies or external regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation of all investigations, actions, and conclusions.   
  • Manages the recruiting, selection, training, development, and performance of the assigned staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce.
  • Establishes and communicates job responsibilities as well as employee performance expectations to assure mutual understanding of desired performance and results.
  • Constructively coaches and counsels for success to seek optimal employee performance.

Skills & Abilities:

  • EducationBachelor’s Degree in business or law, or related focus preferred.
  • Experience: Six to ten years in corporate compliance or a related role. Working knowledge of relevant regulatory agencies. 
  • Computer SkillsWorking proficiency and experience with all Microsoft office programs.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Compliance certification a plus
