Key Responsibilities:

  • Educator: Provide training to new associates, guide team members through process changes, and discuss performance expectations. Conduct meetings and offer cross-training opportunities as needed.
  • Sponsor: Facilitate personal development opportunities through cross-training within the department or in other areas of the facility.
  • Coach: Support associates by explaining procedures, encouraging progress, planning, and providing regular performance feedback. Conduct performance reviews to highlight strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Counselor: Address performance issues stemming from personal problems with a supportive and positive approach, aiming to resolve issues and prevent the need for formal disciplinary action.
  • Director: When performance problems persist, offer clear recommendations for behavior changes and consequences, maintaining a calm and serious demeanor.

Goals:

  • Ensure that manufacturing processes deliver world-class quality at OEM design speeds while maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Optimize daily operations and minimize costs in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, and participate in the facility’s safety and health team.
  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and standards, and contribute to the SQF (Safe Quality Foods) certification team.
  • Set and measure operating goals related to safety, quality, and productivity, and track performance publicly.
  • Organize workflow by assigning tasks and preparing schedules to meet customer commitments.
  • Manage labor availability, track paid time off (PTO) and absenteeism with HR assistance.
  • Oversee and coach associates, ensuring proper preventive maintenance procedures are followed.
  • Communicate maintenance needs to the maintenance manager and associates in advance.

Key Competencies:

  • Safe work practices and detailed understanding of specifications and paperwork.
  • Goal-oriented with a strong customer focus and a sense of urgency.
  • Clear communication with customers, leadership, customer service, sales, manufacturing teams, fellow supervisors, and operators.
  • Ability to understand and address operational issues effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred not required).
  • OSHA 10-hour safety training.
  • HACCP (SQF preparation and compliance) training.
  • This role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing a complex and fast-paced manufacturing environment while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.
