Position Summary:

Northern Rock is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Risk Management and Insurance Specialist to oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s insurance policies and ensure compliance across our operations. This role is vital in maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring adequate coverage for our shops, vehicles, and employees. The ideal candidate will work closely with our insurance providers to handle policies, premiums, and claims while supporting the company in adhering to all insurance regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


Policy Management:

  • Oversee and manage all company insurance policies, including general liability, workers’ compensation, property, auto, and health benefits.
  • Review and negotiate policy terms, premiums, and coverage with insurance providers to ensure alignment with company needs and cost-effectiveness.


Compliance Oversight:

  • Ensure all insurance policies comply with federal, state, and local regulations across all shop locations.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance for insured vehicles, shop operations, and employee benefits.


Claims Administration:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate filing and resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and insurance providers to investigate and manage claims.


Risk Management:

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and mitigate potential risks through comprehensive insurance coverage.
  • Proactively assess operational changes to ensure continued insurance compliance and coverage adequacy.


Communication and Training:

  • Work with shop managers to implement and communicate insurance policies and compliance protocols.
  • Provide education and guidance to employees on insurance benefits and processes.


Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain organized records of insurance policies, claims, and compliance reports.
  • Prepare periodic updates for senior leadership on insurance status and compliance efforts.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance compliance, risk management, or a related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance policies claims processes, and compliance regulations (health, liability, auto, etc.).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills for working with insurance providers and internal teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple policies and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in insurance management software and tools.
  • Experience in the automotive or multi-location service industry is a plus.
