Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Monroe WA
Pay range: $24-$25 per hour
Duration: 6 Months+
Shift: 630AM-3PM CENTRAL
*Pay rate is based on years of experience and educational qualifications.
**WA state phlebotomy license is required
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in performing a variety of duties including blood draws, specimen collection, and ensuring accurate specimen labeling and processing. Additionally, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations are integral to this position.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform blood draws and other specimen collections adhering to established procedures.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Ensure accuracy by matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and verifying against scripts.
Package specimens appropriately for transport and store samples according to required temperature.
Maintain thorough records of maintenance, decontamination, and updating patient information.
Communicate clearly and courteously with patients to explain procedures and answer inquiries.
Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations, attending annual department trainings as required.
Provide support in answering telephone inquiries and reading laboratory results.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Phlebotomy certification in the state of employment (where required).
Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
High School Diploma or GED.
0-2 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with different specimen collection methods (e.g., urine, fecal).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
