Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to join our team at EvergreenHealth Monroe. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, processing laboratory specimens, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture, finger, toe, or heel sticks
  • Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing
  • Transport specimens to the laboratory and log receipt
  • Assist with difficult collections as needed
  • Prioritize work load to respond to STAT requests, timed tests, and routine tests
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Provide patient care services adjusted to the age of the patient
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and continuing education programs
Requirements
  • High school graduate
  • Active Washington State Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Excellent venipuncture skills
  • Office/clerical skills
Work Environment and Hazards

This role requires working in a clinical laboratory and patient care areas, with potential exposure to infectious agents and risk of injury or harm from needle sticks and chemical agents.
