Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections of civil construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.
  • Monitor and document construction activities, including green infrastructure, water, wastewater, and groundwater projects.
  • Ensure adherence to DOT and PennDOT standards and regulations.
  • Identify and report any deviations from approved plans or specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve issues and ensure project quality.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of construction progress.
  • Promote and enforce safety standards on construction sites.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction inspection, with a focus on green infrastructure, water, wastewater, or groundwater projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of DOT and PennDOT standards and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using inspection and documentation tools and software.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various project sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with sustainable construction practices and environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes.
