Northwest Steel & Pipe is a full-line steel service center providing a wide range of structural steel products throughout the Northwest. With daily deliveries along the I-5 corridor from Bellingham to Eugene, we offer a comprehensive selection of plate, bars, channels, angles, square and rectangular tube, pipe, and beams. Our processing capabilities include burning, plasma cutting, drilling, shearing, and sawing.

 

We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing shift managers and a team of warehouse and logistics employees to ensure the accurate receiving, inventorying, processing, packing, and shipping of materials. The Operations Manager will also play a key role in maintaining productivity, quality control, and continuous improvement within the facility.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·        Lead and manage a team of shift managers and warehouse staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

·        Monitor and analyze employee performance metrics to drive productivity and efficiency.

·        Identify operational bottlenecks and implement effective solutions for improvement.

·        Ensure all company policies and safety regulations are current and strictly followed.

·        Develop and maintain training programs to ensure employees are fully equipped for their roles.

·        Collaborate with managers to guarantee the accurate and timely shipping of stock and processed materials.

·        Oversee quality control measures for all processed materials to meet our high standards.

·        Manage staffing levels, employee leave requests, and workforce scheduling.

·        Conduct performance evaluations, including promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

·        Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages growth and engagement.

·        Take on additional responsibilities as needed.



Qualifications:

 

·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

·        Proven management experience in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

·        Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

·        Demonstrated leadership ability with a hands-on approach.

·        Excellent communication and organizational skills.

·        Self-motivated with a proactive mindset.
