Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled, versatile, self-motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for schematic capture, PCB layout using Altium software package, component schematic symbol and footprint creation, design verification authoring, system integration, system test plan definition, and working with embedded software to define the software needs to control the hardware where applicable. Additionally, they will perform PCB testing using oscilloscopes and possess soldering capabilities. You will have the opportunity to work on the next generation innovative corneal cross-linking system.


Day to Day?

  • PCB Design and layout


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Altium software package for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Create schematic symbols and footprints for components.
  • Author design verification procedures and conduct thorough testing to ensure product integrity.
  • Perform PCB testing using oscilloscopes and other relevant equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in soldering techniques for prototype assembly.
  • Lead sub-system integration efforts to ensure seamless operation of electrical systems.
  • Define system test plans and procedures to validate system functionality and performance and release in EDMS (Electronics Document Management System).
  • Work closely with embedded software engineers to define software requirements for controlling hardware, where applicable.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met.
  • Support design verification and validation activities.
  • Support System integration activities as needed.
  • Support selection of the electromechanical parts as needed.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in product development.
  • Experience in designing complex circuits includes analog and digital design by creating schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Experience in design verification, system integration, system test plan definition, and working with embedded software.
  • Experience with communication interfaces, including I2C, SPI, UART, Wi-Fi etc.
  • Experience with controls for Stepper, BLDC motors, actuators, sensors, preferred.
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools, such as PSpice, Altium etc.
  • Experience with PCB software tools including ORCAD Capture, Allegro PCB and Altium.
  • Familiarity with the IEC 60601-1-2, preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, changing environment as an individual contributor.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate to internal technical team.
