Baker Tilly is seeking a highly motivated, customer-centric Manager of Membership Services on behalf of the Energy Association of Pennsylvania (EAP) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This position will report directly to the President of the Association and plays a critical role in ensuring that existing members and Association staff receive the support and services they need.


This team member will be responsible for a variety of operational and program management initiatives including the facilitation of meetings and educational forums for members to exchange information; coordination of networking opportunities for members to learn best practices from one another; representation of the EAP before statewide organizations and agencies; and oversight of the Association's affiliate membership program. This is not a membership development role.


The Manager of Membership Services will conduct ad hoc research - gathering and compiling statistics, company policies or other information and/or providing analyses of issues for Association membership/staff and preparing deliverables in the form of graphs, PowerPoint slides, spreadsheets, etc. Additionally, the selected candidate will be responsible for providing responses to members' requests for information, establishing response deadlines, and coordinating follow-up when necessary.


The ideal candidate will have general business, gas & electric utility industry, and trade association knowledge equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of progressive experience in supporting trade association programs and managing relationships among members with complex, sometimes competing needs, objectives, and views. We also expect this individual to have prior, working knowledge and experience dealing with applicable federal and state government agencies including the EIA, PHMSA, OSHA, PUC, PennDOT, DEP and General Assembly.


The successful candidate will:


  • Communicate effectively (both oral and in writing) with Association members, outside agency/organization contacts, EAP staff and the public.
  • Work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate advanced organizational, project management and planning skills.
  • Possess strong data gathering, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Display solid working knowledge of various IT applications including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and publications software.
