Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Computer modeling and mapping related to riverine floodplains per FEMA’s guidelines and standards. 
  • Perform hydrology and hydraulic analyses using approved software by FEMA, including ICPR.
  • Perform riverine flood hazard analysis using approved software by FEMA, including HEC-RAS and ICPR4.
  • Preparation of reports and technical notes.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, E.I.s and technicians with flood hazard mapping per analyses.


Qualifications and Position Expectations:

  • Working knowledge of modeling software preferred especially in relation to hydrology and hydraulic modeling such as WHAFIS, CHAMP, ICPR4, SWWM, and HEC-RAS is beneficial.
  • Experience with ArcGIS GIS tools is beneficial.
  • Ability to coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Hard working, detail oriented, and technically sound with engineering principles & practices.
  • Motivated to progress in career path with a growing firm.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and MS Project.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with hydrology and hydraulic modeling. Experience with flood hazard assessments and tools including ICPR, HEC-RAS, SWMM and flood hazard mapping is also extremely beneficial.
