JOB TYPE: Full-Time


Duties & Responsibilities –

  • Lead and execute diverse projects for the Interior Trims systems to create a unique product or result and drive positive change & business value creation.
  • Interface and drive alignment with the design styling team on surface development. Lead convergence of the styling surface to meet engineering requirements.
  • Represent trims packaging in program meetings, works shops and cross functional engineering and styling meetings.
  • Gather, align and organize information from diverse locations and translate it into detailed execution plans.
  • Drive the engineering activities back into the trims team to resolve open issues according to development timeline, including requirements definition
  • Chair disciplined project meetings to communicate detailed plans, understand critical path, follow-up on assigned tasks, and monitor progress on project objectives such as design deliverables.
  • Drive key decisions (technical, project timing, styling, change management, etc.) that impact system delivery.
  • Take ownership and drive resolution of any blockers to successful delivery of the product, including: Technical issues during development or series production - work with responsible engineers to define and drive actions to resolve, monitor and report status to management teams. Create engineering surfaces to support styling. Organizational issues: identify gaps in resources, processes or roles/responsibilities and escalate appropriately with management teams. Support engineering and design with system and part feasibility studies.
  • Work cross-functionally in a diverse culture with the following functional areas, engineering, design, purchasing, program team, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Be responsible for driving and tracking all program and product change management activities.
  • Contribute to the Trims roadmap (including variants, product improvements, supplier changes, etc.) and impacts on technical specifications, validation testing, manufacturing, cost, etc.
  • Define and implement new processes to enable more efficient delivery of engineering projects.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time to other locations.


Qualifications:


  • Experience in automotive engineering product management, from concept to production is desired.
  • Preferred experience level is 4 to 12 years.
  • Experience driving multiple projects in fast-paced ambiguous environments.
  • Experience with Interior or Exterior trims is desired.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Detail oriented personality with a determined problem-solving attitude using an Engineering first-principle approach.
  • Sense of ownership; you are expected to take accountability for our own and others’ actions unrestrained by role boundaries.


Essential Skills and Experience Required

  • Comprehensive understanding of Trims system analysis, system interface, design studio processes and integration knowledge and experience.


Education/Other –

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent from accredited institution.
  • Must be authorized to work and travel domestically/internationally.
  • High level of problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Work independently and effectively with others.
  • Proficient in Catia V5
  • Knowledge of Team Center.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with Jira is a plus.
